Intensive Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has demanded "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

The attacks succeed evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.
